Sammy Gyamfi, the National Communications Officer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), revealed that the son of the party’s constituency chairman in Atwima Kwanwoma is facing mental health challenges. This disclosure follows an incident where the young man was caught with ballot papers during the ongoing elections on December 7, 2024.
Gyamfi urged the public to approach the situation with compassion and sensitivity, emphasizing the need to respect the family’s privacy. “The young man has been battling mental health issues for some time. It’s crucial that we handle this matter delicately and avoid politicizing his condition,” he stated.
As the electoral race intensifies, with thirteen candidates vying for the presidency, including frontrunners Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party and John Dramani Mahama of the NDC, the focus remains on maintaining a fair and peacefull election process.
