Kelvin Sampane Addo, popularly known as Akonoba, is a well-known skit maker and content creator in Ghana. Recently, he opened up about his feelings regarding his identity in an interview on the Delay Show. Akonoba shared that he has always felt a bit feminine since childhood, a realization that has shaped who he is today.
In the interview, Akonoba explained that feeling feminine is a natural part of his personality. He stated, “I feel a little bit feminine. Whoever knows me well knows that I have been like this since childhood.” He reflected on his upbringing, saying that he often felt girlish, but he emphasized that he does not let this define his entire identity. “I cannot kill myself over this. I am not entirely feminine, but I do have a slight feminine side. That is how I was born, and I cannot do anything about it,” he said.
Despite his openness, there have been rumors about Akonoba’s sexuality, particularly because he sometimes cross-dresses. During the interview, he took the opportunity to address these rumors head-on. Akonoba clarified, “I am not gay; I am very straight. No male has ever approached me.” This statement highlights his desire to set the record straight and dispel any misconceptions about his identity.
When asked about his interactions with women, Akonoba confidently shared that he does not often make the first move. “I don’t approach women; they make advances at me,” he said. He added with a touch of humor, “Personally, I have always been handsome since childhood. And since I am not a stone, women naturally come my way, and I do get involved with them.” This comment reflects his self-assurance and comfort in his own skin.
