Phillis Naa Koryoo Okunnor, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Awutu Senya East, has raised serious concerns for her safety after alleging she was pursued and shot at by a vehicle associated with her opponent, Hawa Koomson of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Phillis reported that while visiting a collation center in Iron City, she noticed a V8 vehicle with individuals she recognizes. She claims these individuals have previously threatened her and were involved in the shooting of one of her associates. Phillis stated, “They shot at my car several times, and I am not safe; my life is in danger as I speak.”
Despite the turmoil, Okunnor remains determined, asserting, “Whether she likes it or not, I have won the election.” She has since lodged a formal complaint with the police and is awaiting their response to this alarming situation.
