Cynthia Morrison
Cynthia Morrison, the former Member of Parliament for Agona West, has recently spoken out against allegations claiming that Ken Agyapong funded her independent campaign for the 2024 elections. In an interview on March 4, 2025, she firmly refuted these claims, stating that they are untrue.
Cynthia emphasized that Agyapong was out of the country during her campaign, making it impossible for him to have provided financial support. She said, “I know I am sitting on Ken Agyapong’s TV station, but I won’t lie.” Her assertion highlights her commitment to transparency regarding the circumstances of her campaign.
She further explained that the support she received came from a friend of Agyapong, not from the former presidential aspirant himself. Morrison acknowledged that her association with Agyapong had led to significant backlash, including what she described as hate directed toward her. She noted that many of the negative sentiments were tied to her public support for him.
Cynthia’s decision to run as an independent candidate came after she lost her bid in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) primary. This choice reflects her determination to continue serving her community despite the challenges she faced within her party.
