Ghanaian actress Adwoa Smart, whose real name is Belinda Naa Ode Oku, recently opened up about her current stance on dating. In an interview with Nana Romeo on Accra 100.5 FM’s Ayekoo Ayekoo midmorning show, she made it clear that dating is not part of her plans at this moment.
Adwoa explained that she believes it’s essential to sort out critical aspects of her life before engaging in romantic relationships. “You only engage in some of these things when you have sorted out some critical things in your life,” she stated. This perspective reflects her commitment to personal growth and stability.
Although she admits she is not a virgin, Adwoa emphasized that she is not promiscuous. “My mind is on more important things,” she said, indicating that her focus lies elsewhere. She expressed a desire to avoid the pressures and stresses that often accompany romantic relationships.
Adwoa shared her frustration with the complexities of dating, noting that it’s common to discover a partner is already in a relationship or even married. This reality has contributed to her decision to stay away from romantic pursuits for now.
When asked about potential suitors, Adwoa responded positively, saying she often receives advances from “great men” but is careful in her choices. “I’m only being careful, so I turn them down,” she explained. However, she remains open to the possibility that, in God’s timing, she may give someone a chance.
While she has dated in the past, Adwoa Smart has never been married. She reflected on her life experience, mentioning that she has been a mother before, which adds another layer to her understanding of relationships and priorities.
